I need an answer for this it’s to confusing

explain the lines when arnold friend is out in the yard

"the kitchen looked like a place she had never seen before, some room she had run inside ... " take the whole paragraph and decipher what is written between the lines of this paragraph.

I think that Connie's encounter with Arnold Friend has distorted her view of reality. Arnold is aggressive and controlling. He has come into her space: her refuge. Arnold's presence makes Connie's own house feel strange. It no longer offers safety rather it juxtaposes safety. Everything feels surreal and sinister now that Arnold has intruded into her space.
