How were Joey and Albert reunited?

He is won in a "coin toss" in which the English soldier takes him back to the English camp. Albert is a soldier who is nursing horses (he is a veterinary assistant) and other animals, and he brings Joey back to health. Through a number of ups and downs, Joey finally gets to go home with Albert when the war is over.
