"Waiting for Godot" has many of the characteristics of an absurd play. It has no structure, a loose plot, and it's characters are nothing more than mechanical puppets engaging in incoherent discussions. This combined with a lack of purpose and characters devoid of any true characterization makes the play "absurd."
