translation

I understand the word "godot" is Gaelic for "forever". Is this correct and if so which regional Gaelic is it? I'm guessing from Brittany, but that is just a guess.

yes that is what it means however in the play which was orginnally writtin in french godot means boot

This pharse people use it to describe a situation where they are waiting for something to happen but it probably never will.
