Booker T. Washington was born a slave in the state of Virginia. When he was nine, the Civil War ended. Booker was intelligent, frugal, humble, and held very high morals. He was educated at the Hampton Institute and went onto found his own educational facility in Tuskegee. As an adult. Booker not only worked as an education, he went onto become an author, great orator, and even an advisor to presidents.
