what is st. clare's and legree's faith/beliefs?

St. Clare does not believe in God. He drinks a lot and frequents questionable establishments. He does love his daughter and treats his slaves better than most. Although he sees the evil in slavery, he continues to practice it. Legree on the other hand justifies his evil treatment of slaves, in part, on the Bible. He is a superstitious man who frequently beats his slaves. He is a cruel man with few redeeming traits.
