In Chapter Fifteen, we are not apprised of Miss Ophelia's father's feelings about slavery, per se. We know that he is not a Northerner, we know that he believes in work, and that everyone is his own family does their part, and we know that the family belongs to a church that supports abolitionists. Thus, we can infer that he disapproved.
