Uncle Tom's Cabin

In Chapter 1, Haley tells Mr. Shelby that it is no kindness to raise slaves too indulgently or to give them expectations of a normal life. How does George Harris echo that sentiment when he comes to tell Eliza that he is running away

George knows that he can never have a normal life no matter how "nice" his master is. George cannot live under constant fear of being killed or having his family harmed. He has to try for freedom.
