We can see that Mitch doesn't see himself as the same person he was in college, as he shares his story. Mitch once dreamed of becoming a musician but quit after seeing himself as a failure. Picking himself up by the bootstraps, he then went back to school to get his degree in journalism, but rather than truly work at his craft, he took the first job that came along. Fortunately, he was successful, but unlike the man he once was, Mitch began to gage his success on the amount of money he made.
