The book describes the constant dichotomy of order and disorder. There is the order of Dr. Livesay and his "honest" path to the treasure and there is Long John Silver's dastardly underhanded path to the treasure. Both paths work to provide the reader with entertainment but, in the end, disorder is thwarted. I suppose that leaves rules, regulations, and order that win the day.
