when the keeper asks peter what needs to be done to make things better , he responds by saying "i think someone should smash cole's head against a sidewalk, so he knows how it feels. " Do you think cole already knows how this might feel? why or why not?

Cole has a violent past both in and outside his family. We see in chapter 6 that Cole's father clearly physically abuses him. From that standpoint Cole certainly understands. Cole also understands this from an emotional view point. His rage tells him that he would love to get even with his father; he would like to enact the same violence on him. The Justice Circle hopes to break this cycle of violence.
