When leaving the Circle, in reference to his father Cole asks Garvey "Did you hear him lie tonight?" Garvey responds "He isn't the only one." To whom is Garvey referring?

This is in Chapter 6. Tell me whom Garvey referred to and tell me what the person said that was a lie.

Garvey is talking about Cole. Although his father is abusive and in denial, Cole too puts on a bit of a show for the circle. Cole tries to milk his pain to receive sympathy from the circle.
