What are the emotions in chapter 1 that Cole gives? Why?

Cole is a very angry young man; he's angry at the world. In chapter one his emotions are selfish. He's feeling sorry for himself, and he hasn't yet learned to understand that although there are specific instances in his life for which he might be justified in feeling sorry for himself....... he has far more to be sorry for.

Cole is a stick of dynamite....... he feels neglected by his parents, he's been physically abused by his father, he's acted out, gotten into trouble, and then abused (beat up) another person for exposing his mistakes (crimes if you will).
