Cole goes from being an angry violent teenager to a more self aware young man. Edwin and Garvey certainly help Cole along the way. They take him to the frozen pond, they teach him the wolf dance, and teach him how to discover honour honor and respect for himself and other living things. They help Cole by giving him the tools to break through his anger and self-loathing.
