in chapter 14 what suprise does garvey plan for cole

Garvey actually backs Cole up in giving him a second chance at the island. He says that he will sponsor Cole. In Chapter 15, Garvey also backs up coles claim of being attacked by a Spirit Bear. Edwin declares that a group of fishermen claimed to see a Spirit Bear off of the island where Cole was stationed a day after Cole left the island.
