if i am writing a summary for a book, do i have to reveal the ending?

i have a project about touching spirit bear and in the project i have to write the summary for the book

Although you do not have to have a true "spoiler" in giving the ending, you should "summarize" the ending in the same way you summarize the rest of the book.  You do not necessarily have to give lots of details, but you must give some information.
