after he got malled how long until he was done with recovery before he was a the detention center and whent back to the island

Chapter 14 begins part two of the novel, and it is set six months after the date that the medivac plane took Cole to a hospital. Cole still had a lot of pain, and he had limited use of his right hand because of the bear attack. I don't know if an exact time is given when Cole returns to the island but it seems close to a year after the attack.
