Do you mean Cole's fears in general?

yes just two from the book but I NEED citation

"Cole stared down at his chest. The bear's claws had raked him open. His shredded shirt exposed gashes with long strips of flesh missing. One of the gulls squawked as it stole a stringy piece of meat and skin from another gull.

Cole realized that the gulls were fight over bits of his own flesh." (pg 80)

Cole was actually beginning to fear being killed.

Cole is trying to swim to another island. He realizes that if he doesn't go back he will drown. Cole realizes how futile his efforts are when he gets a leg cramp and notices that the incoming tide is pushing him back to the shore. (Chapter 5)
