I think d house represents Mrs Ramsay`s body and the lighthouse is what in that sense?

I disagree, the lighthouse is definitely a symbol in the novel, but I believe it is symbolic to each character in a completely different way. The only similarity I see in how the lighthouse is viewed by the character is that it inspires "hope" in each of them. It is a symbol of things that are possible and that can be attained. It is not a symbol of unreachable dreams, but rather a symbol of dreams that can come true. Sorry to disagree, but we all see things differently :-D and Woolf enjoyed sparking that type of disagreement in her work.
