To Kill a Mockingbird

Why might an author use anthropomorphism to tell a story? Why might it be an advantage for an author to use people characters and tell a story in a fable or allegorical form? What does this tell you? Explain briefly.

This is for the forum To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. What does anthropomorphism mean in the question? What does this tell you?

This really isn't in this in the book. The mad dog is personified a little bit but no real anthropomorphism.
