Why do YOU think the death of Tom was wrong?

I believed the death of Tom was wrong just because he's black. I don't think it was fair because he didn't do anything. He only just walked past Mayella's house and then Bob had to go and lie about what Tom did.

Beyond your statement, the death of Tom represented a failure on the part of white society to do the right thing. They failed in justice and they failed in respecting human dignity. Atticus proved his case beyond doubt that Tom was innocent. The bigotry of the white jury failed Tom and failed the justice system.
