To Kill a Mockingbird

what new evidence of Scout's character revealed in chapter 7?

It's about whether or not she is changing through the chapter.

This chapter mostly sheds light on Jem. The new school year starts, and Scout finds second grade just as boring as first. She is excited about the hole in the tree and the gifts but not in the same way that Jem is. Scout likes the novelty of it all while Jem sees greater meaning in the person that is leaving these gifts. While Scout is disappointed that Nathan Radley filled up the hole, Jem is really disheartened.
