Calpurnia is the voice of reason.... she is a motherly figure to Scout. She cares for the family's homes, but more than that.... she cares for the family. She models good behavior, reminds Scout of her manners, and gives her good advice. Cal is the closest thing to a mother than Scout has ever known.
