Scout is the narrator of the story. Much like her brother Jem, Scout develops much like her character in the book. She matures into a feisty champion of doing the right thing. She loses her childish beliefs in rumour (Boo Radley) and sees the world as an unfair place but worth fighting for. Scout writes in the first person, using  "I", but she is reflecting on the past.
