What is TKAM ultimately teaching about injustice and how to overcome it?

In essence, To Kill a Mockingbird teaches that attaining something, in this case justice, isn't always something that can be achieved immediately. None-the-less, through Atticus' character, we learn that every individual has the power to assert change. People simply need to stick to their beliefs no matter the cost.
