What is the weather like in Maycomb? Have there been any natural disasters during the novel of To Kill A Mockingbird?

The weather is generally comfortable. Summers are quite warm, and although Maycomb experiences all four seasons, winters are mild. The natural disaster in question would be the snowstorm in Chapter Eight.
