Atticus views family as the people who are there for you..... the children, the neighbors, the community. An example of this would be Atticus' reaction to Alexandra's desire for Calupurnia's dismissal. Aunt Alexandra views family based on name, heritage, and the social dictates of one's heritage. Their views are very oppositional.
