To Kill a Mockingbird

What is the Dewey Decimal system according to Jem? What is the real meaning of the Dewey Decimal system? What point is the author trying to make about Miss Caroline’s teaching?

Chapter Two. I was pretty confused about this question. Thank you!!

According to Jem, the "Dewey Decimal System" is a new reading technique. The Dewey Decimal System is actually a library classification sytem. The author's point is that Miss. Caroline is introducing all kinds of new teaching methods that nobody else understands.
