What is significance of Aunt Alexandra saying, "I'm sorry,brother..." (pg.212) to Atticus?

I really like this line, Aunt Alexandra tells us so much by saying so little. She is, in the end, a little like her brother. Although she clearly holds racial bias, she understands right and wrong. She is also in her brother's corner.
