I think this happens gradually through the book. She faces all kinds of obstacles but has Atticus as a wise councillor and parent. Scout begins to see the truth in people and circumstances: she begins to see that truth as sacred even in the midst of overwhelming bigotry and popular opinion. She begins to view shunned characters like Tom Robinson, Boo Radley, and even Mayella Ewell as mockingbird-figures.
