What do you think will be the cost the Finch family will pay for Atticus' ideals?

In the long run, the Finch family will not face longlasting reprisals for Atticus' decisions. The respect he commands in the community is well established. There will be those who hold his decision against him, and there will be those who join in on the negativity, but in the long run, his actions will serve to make those in the community who disagree with him to take notice.... all except one.
