What do Jem and Atticus mean by "blind spots"?

what do they mean by "blind spots" and what does it mean that people have blind spots?

This is actually Atticus talking about Mr. Cunningham. He tells Scout that he is basically a good man with "blind spots." This means he is still ignorant about certain things like racism and bigotry.
