While Scout and her family were enjoying Christmas at Aunt Alexandra's, she and Francis went out to play in the backyard. While they were outside, Francis made the mistake of saying that Atticus was a "nigger-lover," and he will be the ruination of their family. Scout patiently bides her time, and when the opportunity arises, punches him in the mouth.
