Miss Caroline is proud of where she is from, and she has no problem conveying that fact to the people of Maycomb. She's not only a newcomer to town, but a condescending scalawag (southerner who supported Union policies) to boot. Miss Caroline is outside the box, and her opinions tend to make things interesting.
