um do you know of three reasons how atticus and heck tate lied about what happened to robert ewell? i have that he was protecting boo/arthur and he thought there was more justice that way, but what's one more?

Both understand that the publicity would destroy a guy like Boo Radley.Boo Radley is essentially a mockingbird-figure. He tries to do good but is a social recluse. Having the media on him and old ladies delivering pies would be more than this man could handle. I think they also wanted to shield Scout and Jem from public rumor and scrutiny.
