Is Atticus living up to his definition of courage?

I think that Atticus defines courage. He does the right thing: he defends To Robinson even though Atticus well knew that they probably would not win, "we were licked a hundred years before we started is no reason for us not to try to win." Doing the right thing in the face of overwhelming odds and massive bigotry is courage. Atticus was willing to sacrifice a lot in order to at least give justice a chance.
