To Kill a Mockingbird

to kill a mockingbird

would this count as a euphemism? "A hain't lives there," he said cordially, pointing to the Radley house.

because to me it seems nicer calling Boo a hain't than flat out saying "boo is a super creepy pale guy"

The following euphemism may be more appropriate, Aunt Alexandra is explaining to Scout why she cannot play with Walter Cunningham in Chapter 23.

She took off her glasses and stared at me. "I’ll tell you why," she said. "Because— he—is—trash, that’s why you can’t play with him. I’ll not have you around him, picking up his habits and learning Lord-knows-what. You’re enough of a problem to your father as it is."
