Can you find any evidence that Jem is beginning to understand more than Scout about Boo Radley? What do you think this is?

When Jem realizes that it most likely Boo leaving the gifts, and that Mr. Radley cemented the knot-hole to stop him, he cries. He's beginning to understand Boo's circumstances and isolation, something Scout is still unaware of.
