Atticus' closing arguments were honest, strong, and right on target. The trial itself was almost like going through the motions. I don't think anyone had a doubt of what the outcome would be. I don't know what you mean by that day? The day Mayella said she was raped? If so, that is contradicted loudly and clearly. There was no rape, or attempted rape.... just a lonely girl looking for attention in the wrong place and getting caught by her father.
