To Kill a Mockingbird

Social Justice

Boo radley, Tom Robinson, and The Ewell family are all victims of Social Injustices. Please help me explain how each character is a victim to this.

Ewell family- They are a victim of their twisted father Bob. They live in abject poverty because their father is drunk and chooses to be unemployed.

Boo Radley- Boo is a mockingbird figure. He is misunderstood and victimised because of his past. People judge him on preconceptions based on rumour and childish innuendo.

Tom Robinson- Tom is also a mockingbird figure. Tom tries to help Mayella and is punished for her father's sins because he is a black man.
