To Kill a Mockingbird

Please help with my To Kill a Mockingbird essay?

So I have an essay due soon for To Kill a Mockingbird, and for the essay you can really write about anything. I want to write about Maycomb's role in the novel, and Atticus's role, which I think is teaching not only his kids what is right, but also the town of Maycomb. Do these seem like ok topics to write about? What quotes would be best to use for these topics? What do you think is Maycomb's role in the novel, and how does Atticus's role relate? Please help.  Could you answer this question specifically?

Discuss the town of Maycomb as you might discuss a main character in the book. What is the identity or "character" of the town, and how (if at all) does it change and grow over the years? How does its diversity give it a pluralistic character?

I don't know which quotes to use, help!

Sorry, we cannot help with essays on this forum. It is only for short answers. Much of the town's background and character are dealt with in Scout's opening narrative in chapter 1. You might begin there for quotes. Good luck!
