Early in the novel, she dislikes Calpurnia, but later understands how hard Cal works and decides to try very hard not to get her dress dirty.

She starts out terrified of Boo Radley and then comes to understand Arthur.

She starts out believing all the local stereotypes about various families and then comes to see that people are people and that a name does not make a person; fine folks are those who do the best they can with the sense they have.

She starts out hating girly stuff but comes to learn the value of being a lady.
