There is a lot of internal conflict in this book depending on which character you are referring to. Certainly Atticus is internally conflicted when Heck Tate suggests they take Boo Radley out of Bob Ewell's attack near the end of the book. Making Boo Radley into a hero would surely destroy him. Atticus decides that it is better to change the truth a little for Boo Radley's sake.
