Scout initially sees Boo Radley as a ghostly monster: he is the stuff of childhood imagination. Scout slowly begins to see the humanity in Boo Radley. She sees the gifts he leaves in the tree hole and she understands who put the blanket on her during the fire at Ms. Maudie's place. She finally sees Boo as the benevolent human being who saved her life as well as her brother's on the night of the pageant.
