In chapter 15 what is the main idea?

Essentially Atticus goes to the prison to protect Tom Robinson from a mob of white men wanting to lynch him. It is actually Scout who diffuses the tension with the frank innocence of a child. She makes mr. Cunningham understand just what his mob is doing.
