Jem is "shot at" by other kids who call his dad a n-lover.  Also by Mrs. Dubose.

Scout is "shot at" by Cecil Jacobs, by Francis, and by the ladies at the Missionary tea who tease her about going to court.  Even Miss Caroline Fisher, the first grade teacher, "shoots at " Scout for being able to read and write.  Rather than taking advantage of her skills to help other children, she shames Scout for "knowing too much" and causes her to hate school.

Boo is "shot at" by all the folks who perpetuate rumors about his stabbing his mother with the scissors, eating raw squirrels, poisoning the pecan tree, and peeking into people's windows.

Tom is "shot at" by everyone who assumes that he is guilty before the trial.  Many also continue to believe he deserves to be executed even after the truth comes out in the trial, because after all he's just a n-- and why should we care about him.  Mostly he was "shot at" by the Ewells who made up the whole rape yarn in the first place.
