A typical southern woman acts like a lady, generally loves to putter in her garden, goes to church, involves herself in women's groups, and if we believe everything we read..... loves to sit in the shade on the porch. Other characteristics attributed to the southern woman would be flowing dresses, hats, and white gloves.
