How were the Radley Folks different from the majority of the Maycomb folks?

There was a myth built around the Radleys. Boo was purported to have broken the law as a youth with some other hoodlums of the neighborhood. Boo also had apparently stabbed his father in the leg with scissors. After that the Radleys remained intensely private, not even going to Church which was the prime social outlet in Maycomb. For these reasons plus countless of unfounded rumors, the Radleys were shunned.
