Atticus was seen to be a caring and honest man.

He was from Maycomb and one of the few people that were well educated.

Atticus frequently did work for no money like he did for Walter Cunningham Sr.

(anyone have support from the book to kill a mockingbird to support the answers)

These are traits that develop Atticus's character throughout the book. I really encourage you to read it. The book has stayed with me my entire life.
