I think he was more touched by them than he learned from them. Through Scout, Jem, and Dill, Boo was able to feel his lost childhood. Boo loved their sense of innocence.

Plus, Aslan dude, he wanted to find a connection to the kids, sort of how I have a connection with my parents...right???
